Avlite receives order for solar LED Obstruction lights to improve aviation safety in Africa

North Carolina, USA,  01 Dec. 09 --/  Avlite Systems has been awarded a supply contract for solar powered LED obstruction lights to support the UN Mission in Liberia.  Working with ARC Aviation Renewables Corp., Truebell Marketing & Trading LLC, a registered supplier for the United Nations, will be providing the solar LED obstruction lights for the lighting of towers and obstructions.  The Avlite obstruction lights will be used primarily within the airspace of Monrovia, Liberia.  Meeting ICAO obstruction lighting requirements the Avlite Solar LED obstruction lights will be used to improve the safety of all air traffic in the region.

 

The United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) was established by Security Council resolution 1509 (2003) of 19 September 2003 to support the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the peace process; protect United Nations staff, facilities and civilians; support humanitarian and human rights activities; as well as assist in national security reform, including national police training and formation of a new, restructured military.
