For Immediate Release
Victoria, BC, Canada. 10 Feb, 2010 --/ Aviation Renewables supplies Task Force CORSAIR of the US ARMY with the Avlite Systems Ltd. AV450 solar airfield lighting system for VFR, IFR and NVG compatible airfield operations. Task Force Corsair operates out of Forward Operating Base Wolverine, in Zabul, Afghanistan. The Avlite Systems Ltd. AV450 solar airfield runway lighting system is capable of self-contained solar airfield lighting operations for both visible and near infrared operations. If required, this system can be hooked into the optional AV450 high voltage cable system for continuous non-precision IFR outputs. Avlite and Aviation Renewables will deliver radio controlled AV450 runway edge and threshold lights, AV72 taxiway edge lights, 2.4 GHz hand held encrypted controllers and frangible stake mounting solutions. The AV450 and AV70 series are lighting components of the US ARMY MOTS program consisting of a portable solar airfield and helipad lighting system with mobile air traffic control tower. Task Force CORSAIR chose the Avlite AV450 solar powered airfield lighting system based on its rapid deployment capability, military tested design, field-tested performance results, triple redundant operating features, and visible/NVG compatible lighting intensities. This mobile solar runway lighting system must withstand extreme and austere operating conditions such as continuous rotor wash, sand blasting and extreme hot and cold temperatures. The AV450 and AV72 will operate from a securely
encrypted 2.4 GHz wireless hand held controller using an intelligent mesh network that provides a virtually unlimited operating range. Control and operating capabilities include: rapid on/off control, intensity adjustment, NVG compatible LED lighting, VFR or IFR non-precision medium intensity runway lighting (MIRL) intensities, sequence flash approach lighting, grouping of up to 16 lighting sections within an airfield, real time diagnostics for battery, charging and LED operating health and if required, assimilation into the current monitoring and control systems.
Assisting manufacturers and integrators to provide customers like the US ARMY with it's next generation mobile airfield systems, Aviation Renewables and Avlite Systems Ltd. are the leaders in providing solar airfield lighting systems. Avlite and Aviation Renewables continue to provide rugged, reliable, on time solutions for aviators worldwide.
