JSF Technologies and ARC Aviation Renewables Corp. have signed a strategic partnership for the purpose of providing renewable based solar powered traffic beacons to the international aviation industry. JSF Technologies manufactures the world's most advanced solar powered traffic beacons. Products include pedestrian activated crosswalk beacons; 24-hour flashing beacons; school zone beacons; and advance warning beacons. All of these solutions have airfield applications.
In the month of September, the US Army has ordered solar powered warning beacons with radio control for operations in Afghanistan. Aviation Renewables and JSF worked with airfield engineers to provide a custom adaptation of the JSF Advance Warning Beacons. With this system, the air traffic controller will be able to activate the beacons from the control tower, up to 1 kilometer away from the beacons. A failsafe feature inside the beacons will initiate flashing if there is a power failure at the tower.
