Aviation Renewables, Avlite Systems and its Japanese distribution partner Meiwa Jisho Jyutaku Ryuutsuu Inc. will deliver additional solar powered LED Portable Runway Lighting Systems to the Japanese Air Self Defense Force (JASDF). Avlite’s solar powered LED runway edge and threshold lights will support the ongoing disaster relief efforts being carried out by the JASDF at the Matsushima Air Base. The electrical airfield lighting system at Matsushima Air Base was severely damaged by the over powering earthquake/tsunami which resulted in a self-contained, mobile solar lighting solution to support day and night aircraft operations. Equipped with a momentary push button for on board diagnostics and an external charge port for use during storage, the Avlite portable solar runway lighting will allow fixed wing and rotary helicopter operations to support local community restoration and recovery efforts. In addition, Aviation Renewables, a long time partner of Meiwa, has donated emergency relief funds to the Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Asia Pacific Disaster Relief Fund in support of emergency shelter and food aid for victims of the recent disaster.
Meiwa Jisho Jyutaku Ryuutsuu Inc., a proud partner of Avlite Systems and Aviation Renewables, continues to work closely with the JASDF as a supplier of permanent and portable solar powered LED airfield lighting and renewable power solutions. As a primary supplier to civilian, defense and humanitarian aid airfield operations, Avlite Systems and Aviation Renewables continue to design and deliver solar powered LED runway lighting systems for portable, sustaining and permanent operations.
