Avlite Systems has been awarded a contract to deliver multiple radio controlled AV425-RF-IR solar LED airfield lights to a Southeast Asian Defense Department. The AV425-RF-IR will increase the safety and operational flexibility of the runway by offering the pilots clear guidance both on approach and during overhead circling maneuvers. With a durable polycarbonate omni-directional lens designed to ICAO photometric requirements, the light provides guidance in both NVG-compatible infrared mode or in visible mode. Using a 2.4 GHz encrypted mesh network, the AV425 can be controlled from the ground, air traffic control tower or cockpit of an aircraft via encrypted VHF radio signal. The advanced AV MESH Network allows all lights to communicate via a command and receive smart network providing fail-safe, self-healing and self-realizing wireless communications with virtually unlimited range.
Working with Aviation Renewables, the operator required a solution that provided exceptional lighting and control capabilities for pilots operating in variable environments. The AV425-RF-IR was selected as the light that best suited the client’s needs. As providers of proven, tested and custom solutions for both defense and civilian operations, Avlite Systems and Aviation Renewables continue to support the industry’s most demanding aircraft and challenging operating environments.
