For Immediate Release

Victoria, Canada, 16 November 2010 --/ Avlite Systems, through their international consultants ARC Aviation Renewables Corp, has been awarded a follow up supply and delivery contract to deliver its radio controlled AV72-RF solar LED taxiway lighting system for forward operating requirements in Afghanistan. The AV72-RF will provide pilots and ground crew the ability to illuminate the taxiways for both visible and infrared LED lighting requirements without the need for conventional infrastructure at their remote airfield.  Using a 2.4 GHz encrypted mesh network, the AV72-RF can be activated from the ground, air traffic control tower or cockpit of an aircraft via an encrypted VHF radio signal.  With an aviation designed omni-directional polycarbonate lens capable of both FAA and ICAO photometrics, pilots can clearly identify the taxiway while operating with NVGs or during unaided taxiing conditions.  In addition, Avlite’s AV MESH Network allows all lights to communicate via a command and receive smart network providing fail-safe, self-healing and self-realizing wireless communications with almost unlimited range.

Working with Aviation Renewables, a consultant based organization specializing in renewable power and lighting solutions, the customer requested a solution that provided exceptional lighting and control capabilities for pilots operating in variable environments.  The AV72-RF was the recommended solution as the only radio controlled solar LED airfield taxiway lighting system capable of meeting the client’s photometric, performance, operational, safety and cost objectives.   As providers of proven, tested and custom solutions for both defense and civilian operations, Avlite Systems and Aviation Renewables continue to deliver industry leading lighting and power solutions in the most challenging operating environments world wide.  For more information on Avlite Systems and Aviation Renewables, please visit http://avlite.com/ and http://aviationrenewables.com/
